RIM may compete in iPad market

Research in Motion (RIM) who are best known for developing the successful Blackberry Smartphone could be planning their first touch screen tablet device.
Speculated to be called the “Blackpad” the tablet is apparently to be similar to the iPad in size with a 9.7in screen and would be priced at around £315 for the base model.

The Blackpad would also include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and is to let users be tethered through their blackberry phones. The RIM tablet is also to have a front and back-facing camera for video conferencing.
Reports indicate that the domain name blackpad.com has been recently acquired by RIM.
