UK Shoppers spending £1 in every £10 online

The Internet Retailing Website has reported on the growing eccomerce trend shown in the latest ONS report.
UK Internet Economy Worth over £121 Billion
The BBC is reporting today that the internet contributes to 8.3% of the UK economy, a bigger share than any of the other G20 major countries.
The “internet economy” was worth £121bn in 2010, more than £2,000 per person, researchers at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) said.
Furthermore the research done showed that in 2010 around 13.5% of all purchases were done over the internet and is projected to rise to 23% by 2016!
This is very exciting news for UK Small Businesses E-commerce and illustrates that the UK web economy is particularly fast growing.
Coupled with the phenomenal growth in mobile e-commerce, it is a really great time for small businesses to get online!
